MealVersity ("MealVersity", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains how MealVersity Technologies Private Limited, having its registered office at 59 Uttar Sithi Road, Barasat, Kazipara, North 24 Parganas – 700125, West Bengal, India, collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal data when you use the MealVersity customer application, website, support services and food-delivery services (collectively, the "App").

Online payments are processed through authorised payment providers such as Razorpay.

Note: MealVersity does not directly collect or store complete card numbers, CVVs, UPI PINs, or banking passwords. Such sensitive payment credentials are handled by authorised payment providers.

- Assigned delivery partner information

- Delivery timestamps and status
- Contact and delivery attempts
- Arrival and delivery confirmation
- Failed-delivery or customer-refusal evidence

- Account-security risk information
Automated indicators shall not be the sole basis for rejecting a valid complaint or imposing a financial charge without appropriate human review.
2. How We Use Your Information
We may process personal data to:
- Register, authenticate and maintain your account.
- Verify your mobile number through OTP.
- Determine whether your address is within an active service zone.
- Show nearby restaurants and available services.
- Process and fulfil your orders.
- Share necessary order information with the selected restaurant and assigned delivery partner.
- Calculate delivery distance, fees and estimated arrival time.
- Provide live order and delivery tracking.
- Process online and COD payments.
- Generate invoices and transaction records.
- Process cancellations, complaints and refunds.
- Investigate missing, incorrect, damaged, unsafe or undelivered orders.
- Detect and prevent fraud, payment abuse, coupon misuse and false complaints.
- Determine COD availability and review verified refusal incidents.
- Send essential OTPs, receipts, order updates, refund updates and security messages.
- Provide customer support.
- Improve application reliability, safety and performance.
- Comply with tax, accounting, food-safety, consumer-protection and other legal obligations.
- Establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- Send promotional communications only where permitted and where the required consent has been obtained.
3. Location Information
MealVersity may use location information for:
- Checking service availability
- Selecting and confirming delivery addresses
- Calculating distance and delivery fees
- Assigning a delivery partner
- Navigation and routing
- Calculating ETA
- Providing live delivery tracking
- Protecting customer and rider safety
- Investigating delivery disputes
You may disable optional location access through your device settings. However, features that depend on location may become unavailable or less accurate. MealVersity will not use precise location for unrelated advertising without separate and valid consent.
4. How We Share Information
We may share limited personal data with the following recipients:
4.1 Restaurants
The selected restaurant may receive:
- Customer or receiver name
- Order information & relevant instructions
- Delivery locality
- Limited contact information where operationally necessary
- Complaint information concerning that restaurant
Restaurants must not use customer information for independent marketing.
4.2 Delivery Partners
The assigned delivery partner may receive:
- Customer or receiver name
- Delivery address and location
- Phone or masked contact facility
- Order reference & delivery instructions
- COD amount and payment status
Delivery partners must use this information only for delivery, safety and authorised support purposes.
4.3 Payment Providers
Payment and transaction information may be shared with Razorpay, banks, acquiring institutions and other authorised payment participants for:
- Payment processing, verification, and reconciliation
- Fraud prevention & chargebacks
- Refund processing
4.4 Technology and Communication Providers
We may use service providers for:
- Firebase push notifications
- Mapbox mapping, navigation and routing
- SMS, OTP, and Email delivery
- Cloud hosting, databases & S3 media storage
- Security, logging and technical support
4.5 Professional and Legal Recipients
Information may be shared with auditors, insurers, accountants, lawyers and professional advisers where reasonably required.
4.6 Government and Authorised Authorities
We may disclose information when required by law, court order or a valid request from an authorised government, law-enforcement, tax, food-safety or regulatory authority.
4.7 Business Restructuring
If MealVersity undergoes a merger, acquisition, financing or transfer of business, personal data may be transferred subject to appropriate confidentiality, notice and legal safeguards.
Note: MealVersity does not sell customer personal data in exchange for money.
5. Consent and Customer Choices
Where processing is based on consent:
- The purpose will be explained before or when information is collected.
- Consent will be obtained through an affirmative action (no pre-ticked boxes).
- Optional marketing consent will be separated from essential service processing.
- You may withdraw consent through account settings or by contacting us.
Withdrawal will not affect processing lawfully completed before withdrawal.
6. Marketing Communications
MealVersity may send offers and promotional messages only where legally permitted. You may opt out through:
- The unsubscribe option in the message
- Notification or communication settings
- Customer support or privacy contact emails
Opting out of marketing will not stop essential OTPs, payment alerts, order updates, refund notices, security messages or service communications.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purpose or as required by applicable law.
Different retention periods apply to:
- Account and authentication records
- Saved addresses and location information
- Orders, invoices, payment, and refund records
- Tax and accounting records
- Support tickets and complaint evidence
- Food-safety incidents & fraud records
- Security logs and device tokens
When data is no longer required, it will be securely deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

MealVersity uses technical and organisational safeguards including:
- Encryption during transmission (SSL/TLS)
- OTP-based authentication & role-based permissions
- Payment-signature verification
- Security and audit logging

11. Personal-Data Breaches
If a personal-data breach occurs, MealVersity will:
- Investigate and contain the incident.
- Assess the nature and possible impact.

MealVersity is intended for individuals legally capable of entering into transactions. Users under 18 should use the service only with the involvement and valid consent of a parent or lawful guardian.

Where international technology providers process information outside India, MealVersity applies contractual and security safeguards required by Indian law.
